Shatner's World: We Just Live In It

At the Music Box Theatre located at 239 West 45th Street,  It opens on February 16, 2012  and closes on March 4, 2012. It then goes on a 15-week national tour.  The show runs one hour thirty five minutes with no intermission.

William Shatner is known for his role as James  T. Kirk in the television series "Star Trek"  from 1966-1969.  He made seven "Star Trek" feature films from 1979-1994. William played in" T. J. Hooker" from 1982-1986.  Afterwards he hosted the reality based television series "Rescue 911" from 1989-1999 which won a People's Choice Award for Favorite New T V Drama Series. From 2004-2008 he starred as an attorney Denny Crane in the television series "Boston Legal" which he won two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award.

The shown consists of short skits about his life.  How he got started acting going back and forth sometimes adding something personal about his mother, father, wife's number three and four and his children.  He talks about the different acting roles he played and the music albums he made.  In one skit he told his mother he got a role of a Jewish husband she replied make sure they give you some words to speak.

There is a round circle in the middle of the stage that looks like the world but changes into a screen with photos and videos of things he is talking about.  He showed a video where he was hosting a banquet for George Lucas another were he came in riding a horse. There is furniture on either side of the globe but are only used where the screen is on, that's were he rests.  The prop he uses the most is a desk chair with wheels which he sits on and uses as a bed, horse etc.

Mr Shatner is funny and entertaining.  I only know him for the television roles he has played but I have never have watched any of them.  Although there is one Twlight Zone that when they play it I love to watch it.  The  audience who will get the most out of the show are his fans.  Who hasn't heard of "Star Trek".  But even if you are not a fan but are into theatre biographies "live" this is the show to see.
