Madame Raquin (Judith Light) is checking on her son Camille (Gabriel Ebert). She thought he was getting sick. Therese Raquin (Keira Knightley) stands by very quietly.

It seems Therese is the daughter of Madame Raquin brother. He was a seaman and his daughter’s mother was an  Africa princess.  He left Therese with his sister to go to sea but never returned.

Camille insists they move to Paris.

Madame Raquin has her son marry Therese.  Neither is happy about it.

Friends come over to play games once a week.  They are Superintendent Michael (David Patrick Kelly), his daughter Suzanne (Mary Wiseman), Monsieur Grivet (Jeff Still) and Laurent (Matt Ryan). Therese and Laurent are attracted to each other.

Things happen; well I won’t tell you what.

There was no character billed up. We know little about the characters to care what happens. The first act was so mundane.  I did everything to stay awake.

The second act was better but not much.

Great cast!

The show lacked fire. Have a match?
